💵 Prices and estimates

How much does garage door repair cost in Naples?

Most repairs land between $120 and $600. Torsion spring pairs $250–$600, cables $150–$350, rollers $120–$300, off-track correction $150–$400, single panel $250–$800, opener repair $100–$350, new opener installed $450–$900. There is no trip charge and the estimate is free.

How much is a new garage door?

Impact-rated and installed with permit and inspection: $1,000–$2,500 single car, $2,500–$6,000 double car. Size, insulation, windows and your wind exposure category decide where you land. Full-view glass and oversized custom doors are quoted individually.

Do you charge for estimates or call-outs?

No. Estimates are free, there is no trip charge, and there is no after-hours or weekend upcharge. You get a flat written price before anything is touched, and if you decide not to proceed you owe nothing.

Do you offer financing?

Ask when you call — options change, and we would rather give you the current answer than publish one that goes stale.

🚨 Urgent — something is broken right now

My spring broke. Can I still use the door?

No — please do not press the opener button again. The springs carry the door weight, not the opener. Running it against a broken spring strips the opener gear, bends the top section, or drops the door. Pull the emergency release, leave the door down, and call.

My car is trapped inside. What do I do?

If the opener failed but the springs are intact, pull the emergency release and lift by hand — you will get the car out. If a spring is broken or a cable snapped, do not lift it. The release disconnects the opener; it does not make a broken door safe.

The door is stuck open and I cannot close it. Is that an emergency?

Yes. In most Naples homes the garage connects directly to the interior, and that connecting door is often a hollow-core door with a privacy lock. An open garage frequently means an open house. Call us and say the house is open — that moves you up the queue.

Do you really answer at 2am?

Yes — a person, not an answering service, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, with no after-hours upcharge. Though if the door is closed and the house is secure, book a morning slot and sleep. Same price either way.

Rather just ask a person?

Call and describe what the door is doing. We will tell you what it probably is — including when the answer is that you do not need us.

🔧 How garage doors actually work

Why does one spring break and you replace both?

Because they are the same age and have done identical work. The surviving one is typically weeks to months from the same failure point. Replacing one leaves the door unbalanced, wears the opener, and usually means a second call-out inside a year.

How long should springs last in Florida?

Builder-standard 10,000-cycle springs last roughly seven years at four cycles a day — about four and a half at six cycles a day, which is common on a main-entry garage. High-cycle 20,000 springs roughly double that. Salt air near the Gulf shortens all of it.

My door closes then immediately reopens. Why?

Almost always the photo-eye safety sensors — misaligned, dirty, or with something across the beam. It is one of the cheapest calls we take, and often something you can fix yourself. Call and we will talk you through it before booking a visit.

The opener hums but the door does not move.

Usually a stripped plastic drive gear or a failed capacitor. Both are repairable at $100–$350, which is a lot less than a new unit. We repair before we replace.

Why is my door so noisy?

Dry or seized rollers, worn bearings, loose hardware. Sealed nylon rollers and a proper 26-point tune-up usually transform it for a fraction of what people expect.

🌀 Florida code, permits and insurance

Do I need a permit to replace my garage door?

Yes. Florida requires a permit for virtually all garage door replacements, including like-for-like. The package needs the Florida Product Approval number and spec sheets, and there is a final inspection. We handle all of it. Repairs do not require a permit.

Do I need a Miami-Dade NOA in Naples?

No. Only Miami-Dade and Broward are in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Collier County requires statewide Florida Product Approval. A lot of local companies get this wrong on their own websites.

What is the design wind speed in Collier County?

170 mph, Risk Category II — a countywide override under the Florida Building Code. But the design pressure on your specific door also depends on your exposure category, which varies lot to lot. We check your parcel before quoting rather than publishing a number.

Will a new door lower my insurance?

It can. Opening protection is one of six features on Florida wind mitigation form OIR-B1-1802, and a documented impact-rated door can earn a recurring annual credit. You need a wind mitigation inspection to claim it.

Does a garage door qualify for My Safe Florida Home?

Garage doors explicitly qualify as opening protection under the programme. Funding and eligibility change between cycles, so confirm the current status before planning around it.

Why do garage doors matter so much in a hurricane?

Because it is the largest opening on the house. When a garage door blows in, wind pressurises the building from inside and pushes up on the roof at the same moment the wind outside is lifting it. That is how roofs come off.
